Gluttony may be the most tolerated sin in the modern church. Drunkenness, sexual immorality, and theft are named from the pulpit and dealt with in discipline. Overindulgence at the table is joked about, built into church culture, and rarely examined.
Salvation is God’s work of rescuing humanity from sin and restoring people to fellowship with Himself. The Old Testament establishes the promises, patterns, covenants, sacrifices, and prophecies of salvation. The New Testament reveals their fulfillment through Jesus Christ and teaches how individuals receive and continue in salvation.
